Deadline for 2024 National Headliner Awards Extended!

The deadline for the 2024 National Headliner Awards has been extended to 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16. So get your entries in now for one of the preeminent journalism contests in the United States. This year’s competition — the 90th in the history of the awards —  is open to all material appearing online or in publications distributed or broadcast in the United States between January 1, 2023 and Dec. 31, 2023.

Founded in 1934 by the Press Club of Atlantic City, the National Headliner Awards program is one of the oldest and largest annual contests recognizing journalistic merit in the communications industry.

The first National Headliner Awards were presented in 1935.  Since then, more than 2,850 Headliner medallions have been presented to outstanding writers, photographers, daily newspapers, magazines, graphic artists, radio and television stations and networks, and news syndicates.

Photo award renamed to honor Nick Oza

The National Headliner Awards announces that its Best in Show photo award will be renamed in honor of former judge Nick Oza, who died in 2021.
